Guide for workspace admins
Set up the workspace, invite people, shape workflows, connect tools and manage the plan.
Owners and admins set NaatOps up for everyone else. Here's a checklist for a new workspace.
Set-up checklist
- Time zone. In Settings › Workspace, set the time zone. It decides when sprints start and end and how times read in alerts.
- Invite people. Settings › Members › Invite someone. Pick each person's role carefully; see Roles and permissions.
- Teams. In Settings › Teams, create teams such as Mobile squad and Payments squad, add people and give them team roles. Teams filter boards and sprints and group the capacity view.
- Workflow. In Settings › Workflows, adjust the statuses issues move through (Backlog, Ready, In Progress, In Review, QA, Done by default), their order and, if you want to restrict them, the allowed moves.
- Issue types and fields. Rename issue types and add custom fields you need, such as Client ticket or Billable. See Workspace settings.
- Import. Bring your Jira backlog in Settings › Import and test cases from Excel in each project's Tests tab. See Import from Jira or CSV.
- Repositories. In Settings › Repositories, choose Add repository for each Git repository and paste the webhook details into GitHub, so commits, pull requests and builds show on issues. See Pipelines and code.
- Chat alerts. Send issue alerts to Slack, Microsoft Teams or Google Chat from Settings › Chat alerts.
- Automation. Add rules from templates in Settings › Automation. See Automation rules.
- Plan and billing. Choose a plan and add your GSTIN in Settings › Billing. See Plans, billing and invoices.
Day to day
- Archive a finished project from the project's ⋯ menu. It leaves the sidebar, boards and reports and stops counting toward your plan. Restore it from Settings › Workspace.
- Restore a deleted issue from Settings › Workspace › Archived issues.
- Offboard someone who has left in Settings › Members: remove them and their access and API tokens stop at once. Change a role from the same list. See Roles and permissions.
- Check the audit log in Settings › Audit log to see sign-ins, failed sign-ins, role changes, billing, settings changes, deleted work and exports. Filter it and download it as CSV for a security review.
- Export your data from Settings › Workspace when a client or auditor asks for it.
- Watch your usage in Settings › Billing: users, projects, test cases and API runs this month against the plan.
- API tokens for scripts and integrations are in each person's Settings › My account. Bots for editor plugins are in Settings › Bots; a bot's key is shown only once.
